The Sonoma County Water Agency is seeking a qualified Water Agency Engineer II / III for their Design Engineering Section.

Ideal candidates will possess extensive experience and skills specifically related to water/wastewater projects. Strong candidates will demonstrate:

WA Engineer II:

  • Project management of capital projects
  • Knowledge of designing pumping and/or mechanical systems and wastewater treatment systems
  • Experience in preparing construction drawings in AutoCAD and technical specifications in CSI format
  • Understanding of performance and interpretation of hydraulic/hydrologic modeling
  • Development of working partnerships with regulatory agencies, outside entities, local governmental departments, and co-workers
  • Administering and interpreting federal, state, and local regulations and permitting requirements pertaining to water, wastewater, recycled water, and flood control construction and operations
  • The ability to independently meeting deadlines

WA Engineer III:

  • Project management experience for all phases of capital projects including planning, designing, cost estimating and budgeting, scheduling, environmental permitting and compliance, and overseeing construction
  • Knowledge of designing pumping and/or mechanical systems and wastewater treatment systems
  • Experience in preparing of construction drawings in AutoCAD and technical specifications in CSI format
  • Understanding of performance and interpretation of hydraulic/hydrologic modeling
  • Developing working partnerships with regulatory agencies, outside entities, local governmental departments, and co-workers
  • Administering and interpreting federal, state, and local regulations and permitting requirements pertaining to water, wastewater, recycled water, and flood control construction and operations
  • Delivering presentations before public agencies and community groups
  • The ability to independently meeting deadlines
