Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator III

Position Overview:

The Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator III will perform the inspection, operation, and maintenance of pumps, valves, and other equipment that regulates wastewater flow through the treatment process in accordance with thedaily checklists to keep all plant equipment in optimum working condition.Responsible for the plant in the absence of the supervisor. The individual will operate, maintain, lubricate, and adjust equipment in compliance withestablished standards. This position works in concert with the Grade III requirements established by the State Water Resources Control Board.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or an equivalent certificate or diploma recognized by the State of California. Maintain a valid Grade III Wastewater Operator Certificate or qualification as required by the State of California. Two (2) to three (3) years of experience in the mechanical maintenance, monitoring and operation of a wastewater treatment plant. Maintain a valid California Driver License with a driving record acceptable to the City.
