OC San is currently looking to fill the role of an Instrumentation Technician I. Under general supervision, maintains, calibrates, and repairs process control instrumentation and related equipment; implements additions or modifications to control systems; troubleshoots and repairs electrical, electronic, microprocessor-based, and pneumatic and mechanical process control components; and performs duties as assigned. The Instrumentation Technician I perform a variety of assignments in the installation, maintenance, and calibration, of process control instrumentation and related equipment. The successful candidate shall have the thorough knowledge and understanding of calibration and various documents, such as piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID's), instrumentation loop drawings, electrical diagrams/schematics, and control program logic. The Instrumentation Technician I troubleshoots and repairs electrical, electronic, microprocessor-based, pneumatic, and mechanical process control components; identifies, isolates, and diagnoses failures using various types of test equipment. Other duties will include installing, modifying, reprogramming process control components, such as VFDs, panels, cables, PLC/DCS, and additions or modifications of control systems. All of which requires knowledge of basic principles, techniques, methods, materials, and tools used in process control instrumentation installation, troubleshooting, preventative and corrective maintenance, and repair, including engine controls, emissions, governor controls, exciter, engine/generator monitoring. This position will be responsible for helping source and install parts, equipment, piping, and wiring per design specifications; calibrating the instruments; testing the systems; correcting any failures and coordinating various work with other divisions as necessary.
