As the Bay Area’s premiere water utility, CCWD is seeking to fill a Maintenance Superintendent position in our Concord, California office which is a key mid-management position in the Distribution Division of the Operations and Maintenance Department. Major responsibilities include planning, organizing and directing all aspects of the Distribution Division, which includes both administrative duties as well as technical aspects. Administrative duties include items such as budget development and tracking, procurement of supplies and materials, specification/bid development and review, and ensuring regulatory/policy compliance with the area’s activities. Maintenance responsibilities include items such as repair and replacement of all distribution system piping, valves, and their associated appurtenances, site restoration, and clean-up after maintenance activities: paving, concrete, landscaping, etc. This position routinely deals with customer concerns and issues. This position will oversee a work group of approximately 40 people, providing second-line supervision to staff involved with above mentioned activities. The Maintenance Superintendent will also provide highly responsible technical support to the Maintenance Manager.


The core hours of the Maintenance Superintendent are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and occasionally will work extended days, nights, weekend, and holidays. In addition, this department is currently undergoing a transition from manual record keeping to a computer maintenance management system (CMMS) for capturing real-time crew and worksite data.

A Distribution Certificate Grade 3 is desirable.
