Water/sewer district in east Bakersfield is accepting applications for a full-time Sewer Maintainer working under the direction of the District’s Superintendent. The position requires maintaining a sewer collection system and operating specialized sewer maintenance equipment such as a combination hydro-jet/vacuum truck, sewer camera equipment, and computer equipment as well as assisting with maintaining a water distribution system. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, and possess a valid California commercial driver’s license (minimum Class B with air brake and tank endorsement) and acceptable driving record. A California State Water Resources Control Board Grade 1 Water Distribution Certificate is required to be obtained within 12 months after hiring. Must be able to successfully complete a physical exam, drug test, and DMV background check. Monthly salary $5,078 - $6,172 with medical, dental, and vision benefits offered.
