Fluid Resource Management (FRM) is a growing California-based water and wastewater operations company providing contract operations, maintenance, compliance, and consulting services to municipalities, utilities, special districts, commercial facilities, and private water systems throughout California.

We are looking for a motivated Operations Project Manager to join our Operations team. This position is ideal for someone with experience in the water or wastewater industry who enjoys managing client relationships, coordinating projects, supporting field operations, and helping improve processes across multiple facilities.

Position Summary

The Operations Project Manager serves as the primary liaison between our clients, field operations teams, and management. This position is responsible for coordinating projects, maintaining strong customer relationships, assisting with operational planning, tracking project performance, and ensuring exceptional service delivery.

This role combines project management, customer service, operations support, and business development while working closely with the Operations Manager and divisional leadership.

What You'll Do

As an Operations Project Manager, you will:

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts
  • Coordinate project schedules and ensure successful project delivery
  • Support Operations Managers with daily operational planning
  • Communicate project status and progress with clients and internal teams
  • Conduct client meetings in person, by phone, and virtually
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Forecast and track client and project metrics
  • Assist with onboarding new clients
  • Collaborate with managers to resolve operational issues
  • Utilize company software platforms to manage projects and provide process improvement recommendations
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Prepare reports, documentation, calendars, and operational records
  • Attend company meetings, safety training, and professional development opportunities
  • Maintain compliance with company safety policies and industry regulations

Qualifications Required

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience in the water or wastewater industry or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and related experience
  • Valid California Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Basic computer and mobile technology proficiency
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple departments

Preferred

  • Previous project management or account management experience
  • Experience working with municipalities, utilities, or regulatory agencies
  • Experience using project management or work order software
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)

Work Environment

This position includes both office and field work. Travel to customer facilities throughout California is required.

Candidates should be comfortable working around:

  • Water and wastewater treatment facilities
  • Mechanical equipment
  • Outdoor environments
  • Varying weather conditions
  • Construction and industrial settings

Physical Requirements

Applicants must be able to:

  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Walk, stand, climb stairs and ladders
  • Bend, kneel, crouch, and work in varying terrain
  • Push or pull equipment requiring up to 100 pounds of force
  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Enter confined spaces after appropriate training

Schedule

  • Full-Time
  • Monday through Friday
  • Schedule may vary based on operational needs
  • Overtime, weekends, holidays, overnight travel, and out-of-town assignments may occasionally be required
