We are seeking an experienced IT professional with strong skills in IT end-user support, including training, IT administration, updates, and project management.

What You’ll Do

In this key role, you will assist with the day-to-day operations of our information systems and associated equipment and provide training and support to users. Some of the typical responsibilities you will work on include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide end-user support; assist users in solving data-related problems; troubleshoot software and hardware problems and help identify automation needs.
  • Assist in the administration of the District's computing resources; assist with backups and restores; assist with network administration; perform systems security; create and maintain email and network accounts.
  • Provide user training, including training and demonstrations; train users in the full potential of existing systems, information system security, and system backup and data recovery.
  • Install, maintain, upgrade, and replace computer hardware and software; monitor timeliness and effectiveness of equipment maintenance; create and maintain systems utilities
  • Administer network, including DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Directory Services; establish and maintain file, folder, and systems security; perform network maintenance including daily backups, testing, and restores.
  • Manage the replacement of end-user systems, including specifying hardware standards and creating system images.
  • Manage and maintain the IT helpdesk, including responding in a timely manner to helpdesk tickets or routing them to the appropriate IT personnel.
  • Assist with or manage small to enterprise-sized projects.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in computer science.
  • Three (3) years of significant, directly related computer experience including advanced desktop support and basic systems administration, hands-on troubleshooting and administration experience with end-use operating systems, server operating systems, and business productivity suites.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting and administration experience with SCADA, CMMS, networking, CCTV, phone systems, physical security systems and/or audiovisual equipment.
  • Knowledge of computer equipment, operations, terminology, systems administration, hardware/software interaction, troubleshooting techniques, current software, research methods, standard office procedures, and records management.
  • Skilled in operating computers and peripheral equipment; troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues; monitoring network performance; and administering networks.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation; research, analyze, and summarize information; maintain accurate records and reports; diagnose computer problems and recommend solutions; apply computer policies and procedures; provide technical training; coordinate workflows; prioritize tasks; meet deadlines; and follow through on assignments.
  • Ability to analyze user requirements, identify and resolve technical issues, implement process improvements, provide timely customer support, and deliver 24/7/365 on-call support.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based, customer-focused environment; build positive working relationships; communicate effectively; listen actively; facilitate collaboration; seek input; offer assistance; accept feedback; solve problems collaboratively; and recognize others' contributions.
