Senior Civil Engineer/Project Manager – Water and Wastewater Resources

Brelje & Race Consulting Engineers has an opportunity for an experienced project manager or senior civil engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team in the execution of water and wastewater projects. This full-time position will be based in our office in Santa Rosa, California, and is available immediately.

What You’ll Be Doing:

As a civil engineering professional, highly experienced in the planning and design of water, and wastewater infrastructure, your role will be to execute a multitude of projects that will include, among others, wastewater collection, pumping, treatment, and disposal facilities; potable water treatment, conveyance, and distribution facilities; and recycled water facilities. Your responsibilities will include preparing technical reports and memoranda, developing recommendations for equipment and materials selection, and preparing engineering calculations following standard methods and principles. You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and interact with clients and colleagues. Additionally, you will help grow the business by assisting with proposals and developing client relationships. This role offers strong potential for further advancement, including participation in firm ownership.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Agricultural Engineering (or equivalent work experience)
  • Professional registration as a licensed Civil Engineer in California (or ability to obtain California P.E. license within six months of hire)
  • 10+ years of progressive civil engineering and project management experience in the planning and design of public utility infrastructure, including water and/or wastewater treatment processes
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Proficiency in utility and mechanical design, preferably utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Proficiency in water and wastewater modeling software and the principals of their use
  • Experience in ArcGIS
  • Construction management and/or construction administration experience
  • Experience with marketing activities including development of proposals

The ideal candidate will enjoy a small office environment, have a strong desire to collaborate with colleagues and clients, and enjoy a diverse project workflow. You will work under the direction and guidance of a Principal of the firm and have sufficient experience to direct the work of junior staff.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is anticipated to be $160,000 to $190,000 (annually), and

will be based on experience, qualifications, education, and licensure/certifications.
